The Arts

The Arts program at TCPS includes
Visual Art, a West African Drumming
Band, and Choir.

Students are introduced to a variety of drawing and painting media such as charcoals, various grades of drawing pencils, a range of pastels and paints and different types of clay. Students will also make pictures on a variety of media including drawing cartridge, card, wood panels and canvas.

A high point in the art program is the opportunity for our students to take part in the National Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) Landscape Painting Program. This program provides an opportunity for skillful and motivated student artists to learn about the history of French and Australian Impressionism, its artists, techniques and to meet a contemporary Australian Landscape artist. Student’s artwork is exhibited in a studio gallery at the NGV’s Ian Potter Gallery at Federation Square.
